Privacy Policy

LAST UPDATED: JULY 23, 2026 · APPLIES TO GLOBALDEALFLOW.COM AND THE GDF MOBILE APP

This Privacy Policy explains how Global Deal Flow (“GDF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

01Overview

GDF's core purpose is connecting founders raising capital with investors sourcing deal flow. That means certain information you provide is, by design, made visible to other members of the network — this policy explains exactly what's shared, with whom, and what choices you have.

02Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email, phone number, password
  • Profile information: company, role, professional background, photo
  • Listing information (founders): company details, fundraising terms, pitch materials, financial data you choose to share
  • Investment preferences (investors): sectors, stages, check size, mandate details
  • Verification information: government ID, accreditation documentation, source-of-funds information where applicable
  • Content you create: messages, saved lists, notes, documents uploaded to a data room
  • Payment information, processed by our payment providers (we do not store full card numbers)

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: pages viewed, searches performed, listings viewed or saved, features used
  • Device and log data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, approximate location
  • Cookies and similar technologies, described further in Section 6

03How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate the Platform, including matching founders and investors and enabling messaging
  • Verify identity, accreditation, and eligibility for certain features
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Communicate with you about your account, listings, or matches
  • Improve the Platform, including through aggregated analytics
  • Detect fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and maintain platform integrity
  • Comply with legal obligations

04How We Share Information

We share personal information in the following ways. Some of this sharing may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under California law (and similar laws in other states), as noted in the table below.

4.1 With Other Members — The Core Network

The Platform's fundamental purpose is to connect founders and investors. When you create a profile or submit a listing, you're affirmatively choosing to make certain information visible to other members so that connection can happen — similar to how a professional network shows your profile to other members of that network. This visibility is the service itself, not a disclosure to an outside third party, and is not treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under applicable law.

4.2 With Service Providers

We share information with vendors who help us operate the Platform, including hosting providers, payment processors, identity verification and KYC providers, customer support tools, and analytics providers. These providers are contractually restricted to using the information only to provide services to us.

4.3 For Business Purposes & Aggregated Data

We may compile aggregated or de-identified data (which does not identify you) for research, market insights, or data products, and may share or license this data with partners or the public, in exchange for compensation in some cases. This is the category of sharing that may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under California law and similar state laws, and it's the category the opt-out right in Section 5 applies to.

4.4 Legal & Safety

We may disclose information where required by law, to respond to legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of GDF, our members, or the public.

4.5 Categories of Personal Information We Disclose

The “Visible to Other Members” column reflects the Platform's core service — information you choose to share so other members can find and connect with you, which is not a sale or sharing under applicable law. The “Shared for Business Purposes” column reflects aggregated data licensing, which may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” and is opt-out eligible as described in Section 5.

We do not sell personal information to third-party advertisers or data brokers. The sharing described above happens between platform members as part of the service itself, and with vendors who help operate the Platform — not with unrelated third parties for advertising purposes.

05Your Privacy Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Right to Know

Request details about the personal information we've collected, used, and shared about you.

Right to Delete

Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.

Right to Correct

Request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

Right to Opt Out

Opt out of the aggregated data licensing described in Section 4.3.

Right to Limit

Limit our use of sensitive personal information, such as financial or accreditation data.

Right to Non-Discrimination

We won't deny you service or charge you differently solely for exercising these rights.

5.1 Scope of the Opt-Out Right

Creating a profile or listing on GDF means choosing to be visible to other members — that visibility is the service itself, and isn't something you can opt out of while remaining an active member, the same way you can't use a professional network without a visible profile. The opt-out right below applies specifically to the aggregated data licensing described in Section 4.3, not to core member-to-member visibility.

5.2 Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

To opt out of the aggregated data licensing described in Section 4.3, contact us at the email address in Section 12 with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.” We'll confirm your request and the date it takes effect.

5.3 Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We recognize the Global Privacy Control browser signal as a valid opt-out request for California residents where technically feasible.

5.4 Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require verification of the agent's authority and your identity before processing the request.

5.5 How to Exercise Your Rights

Submit a request using the contact information in Section 12. We'll verify your identity before processing most requests, and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may appeal a denied request by replying to our response.

06Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, analytics, and to remember your preferences. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may affect Platform functionality.

07Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Data tied to a completed transaction or verification record may be retained longer where required by law.

08Data Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls on sensitive data such as data rooms and verification documents. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09International Users

GDF's network spans 40+ countries. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your home country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date above, and where required by law, we'll provide additional notice before the changes take effect.
